2012 - a new year and off to a great dancing start.

Choreolab began on Monday January 16th with a welcome by Councillor Ray Ahipene-Mercer and the Footnote Board. Welcome to a wonderful line up of dancers and three weeks of intensive experiences with Claire O’Neil, Ross McCormack and Matt Smith as leaders in a new journey of movement exploration.

Footnote has great pleasure in hosting what has become a unique time for freelance dancers and the company dancers to meet and work together.

Both Ross and Claire will make works for a new Made in New Zealand programme that will open at Dunedin Fringe Festival March 22nd and tour through the country till June when we come home to Wellington at the Opera House as part of the Wellington Dance Festival. Made in New Zealand will also have works by Malia Johnston and Sarah Foster and later in the year our Forte Series will include works by Maria Dabrowska, Kristian Larsen, Fleur de Thier and Lyne Pringle.

Check out Facebook and our diary for Choreolab, and look out for Yes. No. Maybe? in the New Zealand Fringe Festival at Bats being made by Alana Yee and Anna Flaherty who are both ‘lab’ choreographers at Choreolab.

Have a wonderful dancing year wherever you are and whatever you do.
